What is the Outstanding Member of the Year (MOTY) award? 💫
Each year, Nu Rho Psi recognizes one student Nu Rho Psi member and one faculty Nu Rho Psi member who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service & advocacy, research, and/or other significant contributions to Nu Rho Psi and the broader neuroscience community. Recipients will be recognized at this year’s Annual Nu Rho Psi meeting and on the Nu Rho Psi poster at SfN!
Nominees can be self-nominated or nominated by any Nu Rho Psi member, including the National Council members, chapter advisors, faculty, and student members.
If nominating somebody else, please include:
- CV/resume of the nominee and
- Write a 1-2 page letter in support of the nominee, detailing their accomplishments and contributions during the 2025-2026 year and why they should receive the award.
If you are self-nominating, you should submit:
- A personal cover letter,
- Up to two references, and
- A letter of recommendation;
For student members, the letter of recommendation must come from the Nu Rho Psi chapter advisor, and for faculty members, the letter of recommendation should be from one of the two references.
*: Student members include members in post-bacc programs that are within 5 years of obtaining their degree, as long as they were active within Nu Rho Psi during that time!

We can’t wait to recognize you or your favorite incredible Nu Rho Psi members! ✨
