You’re cordially invited to join us on Thursday, February 27th from 7-9 PM EST/5-7 PM PST for a celebration and conversations with our 2023-2024 Chapter of the Year: Weber State University (α-AZ). This event is open to all, regardless of membership or discipline and will take place via Zoom!
Register in advance here: https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/Gcbz2OuCTBmqOcATwgIH8Q
This session will be an opportunity for attendees to not only hear from our panelists about the amazing programming Weber State University hosted and what goes into that, but also to network & talk with them directly and ask them your questions about organizing events, the neuroscience program/Nu Rho Psi chapter at Weber State, the Chapter of the Year application, and more! The first hour of the session will be a Q & A with the Nu Rho Psi Media Team, and the second hour will be a chance to talk directly with the panelists and with each other.
Panelists:

Jackson T. Anderson (he/him) is a junior majoring in Psychological Science with a minor in Neuroscience and the Vice President for Weber State University’s Nu Rho Psi chapter. He has numerous research experiences, including presenting at the 2024 Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Conference. Anderson was awarded the 2024 Journal of Utah Academy’s Best Social Science Paper for his paper entitled “College Students’ and Professors’ Perceptions of a Student with ADHD: Does the Gender Matter?“, and has been involved with WSU’s Brain Awareness Week activities. Anderson plans to attend graduate school after his anticipated graduation in April 2026.

Benson Bush (he/him) is a senior majoring in Psychological Science with a minor in Neuroscience and is the Chapter President for Weber State University’s Nu Rho Psi chapter. He is currently gathering and analyzing data for his senior thesis, and has been a coauthor and first author for various research projects. He has presented posters at the Society for Psychophysiological Research Conference (2023), the 2024 Snowbird Symposium, and the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Conference (2024), the latter of which he was able to raise $1500 for students to attend. For his research efforts, he has been awarded the Outstanding Student Researcher Award in the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences from the WSU Office of Undergraduate Research and was awarded the Developing Brain Award from WSU’s Neuroscience Program in recognition of his promise in the field of neuroscience.
In 2024, Bush helped to plan, organize, and execute Weber State University’s Brain Awareness Week, where the chapter traveled to different schools and a local children’s museum to teach children and teens neuroscience concepts. He organized an event that raised $2,179 for Primary Children’s Miracle Network, a children’s hospital network that supports critically ill and injured children and tries to minimize the financial burden associated with medical care.
Bush has applied to clinical psychology PhD programs and hopes to get a PhD in clinical psychology and continue research as a professor.
