We’re thrilled to share that TEDx has selected Dr. Leila Allen (she/her) for an Editor’s Feature on the TEDx YouTube channel! Dr. Allen is the founder & chapter advisor of the Florida International University Nu Rho Psi chapter, the founder & Director of the Florida International University Behavioral Neuroscience program, and recently was elected to the National Nu Rho Psi Council as President-Elect.

In this talk, I delve into my personal journey and professional mission to better understand and combat dementia, particularly Frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and Alzheimer’s. I explore the emotional impact of my father’s FTD diagnosis and the groundbreaking research we’re conducting using pig models to bridge the gap in translational neuroscience.”
Dr. Allen’s heartfelt and important talk was part of TEDx Miami’s “Stories of Resilience” event in May 2024.
