If you are an undergraduate and wondering what you want to pursue as a career, this is a perfect opportunity for you to attend. This event is designed to showcase the less conventional career pathways one could pursue with any biomedical degree (especially Neuroscience) including business, industry, and education! You will have the opportunity to ask whatever questions you want in the open Q&A session that will be held towards the end. Kindly RSVP using the link in our BIO or on our website. Applications for 2021 Chapter of the Year, 2021 Outstanding Student Member of the Year, and 2021 Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year are due THIS Thursday, MAY 6th, 2021! 🤩🏆 —————— CHAPTER OF THE YEAR AWARD - The Nu Rho Psi Chapter of the Year Award recognizes the accomplishments of a Nu Rho Psi chapter for excellence in carrying out the mission of Nu Rho Psi on the local, regional and/or national level during the 2020-21 academic year. —————— OUTSTANDING FACULTY & STUDENT MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARDS - Nu Rho Psi will recognize annually one Faculty and one Student Nu Rho Psi member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service & advocacy, research, and/or other significant contributions in furthering the world’s understanding & education of neuroscience. —————— Our process this year is a little different - instead of filling out a Word document/PDF and e-mailing it, the submission process will be done through a Google form. The link for the Google form can be found within the Word document of the selected application! All required documents for an application (such as CV, certifications, letters, etc.) can be uploaded directly in the Google form. The video shows the process of getting to the Google form and what the Chapter of the Year form looks like! This process is identical for the other two applications. More information about these awards, as well as the applications, can be found in the link in our bio! 🤗 The documents say that the due date is May 1st, but don’t be alarmed - the due date IS May 6th, as it states on this flyer and the website! The Gut-Brain Axis is an exciting field of research in neuroscience that has completely erupted over the last several years, and we’re excited to focus on it this year! Reminder that our Chapter Activity Grants (CAGs) are due on October 1st. Virtual events ARE eligible for CAGs! More information and the application can be found through the link in our bio. If you’ve attended one of our national members meetings in the past, you may remember that we usually break into smaller groups to discuss multiple topics, including ideas for next year’s theme. With SfN being cancelled this year, we’re going virtual with our member’s meeting (October 22nd, more on this soon!), and we want to collect some ideas in advance. The Google doc link is listed on the last photo if you have ideas you’d like to share 💭

I am from Madisonville, KY and I am involved in a number of other things on campus, including the speech and debate team and a member of Phi Mu. A cool neuroscience fact is that the blood vessels present in the human brain are almost 100,000 miles in length.
